Brick masonry: features and stages of the process

Brick masonry itself is a combination of two materials: brick actually and reinforcing solution. For masonry, red (ceramic) and white (silicate) bricks is mainly used for masonry. When choosing them, one should take into account the brand, which indicates its compression strength. For example, for the construction one – a two -story building is enough to use a brand of brick 75 or 10.

For the preparation of the masonry solution, cement, sand and water in various proportions are mainly used. Such a solution is characterized by high strength and durability. Sometimes, in order to save cement to reduce the cost of the solution, lime or clay can be added there.

Brickwork is performed in several ways. The main ones are chain (1-row) or multi-row method. Simultaneously with the construction, masonry of walls with facing ceramic facial, silicate facial bricks and other piece products can be carried out. At the same time, the ligation of the seams is the fundamental rule of any method when bricks are laid in the order in which everyone is sheavily spread in the following lines of the “body” of another brick.

Chain masonry involves the dressing of seams through each row. With a multi -row masonry method, the ligation of the seams is done after each (from 2 to 5) rows of masonry. For the best coupling of bricks with a solution before laying, it is recommended to soak bricks in water. Well, and at the end it should be reminded that the main tool for masonry made of brick is a cell (trowel), a hammer-pick for a split and stirring brick, an extension for the formation of seams, a plumb line, an order for marking the rows of masonry, a cord-oriente.
